Bill C-21 Update
The Government of Canada has tabled Bill C-21, which includes a ‘freeze’ on the purchase, sale, importation and transfer of handguns and introduces more stringent firearms legislation.
Since the announcement, there have been many questions about the potential impact of the handgun ‘freeze’ on the delivery of the CRFSC. As of now, nothing has changed. The Bill still must go through several readings and the House and Senate before the government can pass the Bill. Some changes may take effect when the Bill receives Royal Assent, while other parts may be introduced via an Order in Council at a future date.
We will continue to post updates as they become available.
